Peak Marcello is a fourteen-year-old boy who was just arrested for illegally climbing the skyscrapers in New York City, where he lives. Now his options are to go live with his father or to go to juvenile hall. To save his family any more heartache he goes to live with his father. Besides, his father is a climber and will surely take him on some climbs. When his father tells him that he wants to take Peak to the summit of Everest to make him the youngest climber to make it, Peak jumps at the chance. He begins to wonder though if his dad is doing it for him or for himself and his companies publicity. Does this really matter to Peak?
